Book Stuff

Let me turn you all on to some great reads! These Titles have hammered me on a number of levels and I hope that they can inspire you as well.

God Revealed by Graham Cooke....Bottom line, If you want to go to another level in your spiritual life you have to upgrade your Image of God. I'm reading it for the third time right now and have integrated it into my God Time, Powerful!!!

Failure Of Nerve by Edwin Friedman, My friend John Alan Turner told me about this one. A great read on the need for healthy conflict and risk taking. Friedman is right on the money and it's walking me through the process of moving beyond operating on a fear level as a leader. John thanks for sharing that with me!

In A Pit With A Lion On A Snowy Day by Mark Batterson. Another solid read about seeing problems as Opportunities and seeing God in all His Bigness. Mark says " Our best thought about God on our best day still falls billions of miles short compared to who he really is." I think sometimes we become Practical Atheists. "I can handle everything till I get to something I can't then I'll ask God about it" basically God I'll call you when I need you. Lots of good stuff not finished yet but will "kick start your heart" to quote the Crew.

Praying the names of God by Ann Spangler. Awesome, helpful and inspiring. Question, do you know Gods Name? How about Names? If you want to explore just how big God Is, then pick this up. When you pray the names of God and Understand what they mean your Intimacy with Him Grows. It touches your heart that he wants to be all that for you and more! Life Changing!

That's whats Rocking my World Right Now. I encourage you to check them out, (Disclaimer) This Stuff will knock you on your Can and while your there inspire you to get on your knees.

Back in the Swing! Tagged and everything else!

Hey, everybody it's good to be back to blogworld. With vacations and day trips and major catch up overload I have had to take a break. So let me catch you all up on what's happening in my world right now.

I've become a walker... yup at least 10,000 steps a day for a wellness program that we recently started at NPCC. We have teams and everything, with incentives. It's cool and I need it. Goes perfectly with my personal "I don't know Jack" Campaign. Weight loss has been slow but i feel in better shape. Another cool thing about the whole walking thing is has created an opportunity for Marianne and I to walk together, we did alot of it on vacation and we really got to connect and communnicate.... Good Stuff.

I'm counting calories too. That's tricky......I went to Subway the other day and got the Subway Club on wheat. The way that I fix it, it goes about 430 calories. Good right? I'm trying to be around 2200 a day. So I thought that I would treat myself to a cookie or two, so I asked what is the healthy cookie? (I'll wait for you to stop laughing) Ok.....so I went with the oatmeal Raisin cookies. Guess what the damage was on those badboys. 200 calories.........each!!!! I could have gotten another sub! This is going to take some work.

I have a cheat day, you know, a day when I can eat whatever with out counting.Well Danny turned me on to a place called Big Jims. It's on the Square in Philly. Lets just say a Kickin Burger and Big Jim actually cooks it! Serious Burger, Fries and Drink for UNDER 5 Bones!!!!!

last weekend Nate and I and a few friends scoped out the Dew Tour, an XGAMES type event and it was OFF THE HOOK!
For 15 Bones you get to see all the X Sports close up....... Seriously Cool. Shaun White was on the super pipe and pulled the competition out on his last run.........I tell you what the dude has a Big Melon, I didn't know what size helmet the guy wears but it must be custom. Overall It was Great and I would go again. Nate got a mo-hawk for charity. He looks Punk, we trimmed it up abit last night. It Looks Good.......I guess as good as a mo-hawk looks.

We had Kidstuf Camp today, prepping for the coming Kidstuf Season. Looking forward to some new music and seriously good stuf and Bubba is jacked and ready for action. Fasten your seatbelts Kidstuf Kicks Off August 26th so mark your calendars. Big thanks to Miriam, Danny, John and all who gave up a Saturday so we can be ready to rock the world of families this fall for Christ! Much Thanks.

We got our food for the GO/07 food drive tonite, I'm excited about what God is going to do through this. Awesome!!!

Great Outdoors

Well the family truckster is packed and we are getting ready for a few days out to the lake. It's funny that it seems that you pack half of your belongings to go camping for a few days, or at least it feels like it. Anyway I'm looking forward to some rest and relaxation,(as much as you can have camping) yup, read a few books and hang out with the kids. Wow you know their not getting any smaller, I'm sure that these times for us as a family will be looked upon with fondness and some distortion as we look to who to blame for locking the keys in the van a few years ago or who locked us out of the cabin or who to this day is pyrotechnically challenged (double word score for that one).... Ok it's me. I hope that this year i can break into a new groove and create positive memories of my manliness and outdoor capacity....HA!

I know this, I need it. I'll tell you all about it when I get back from the Tundra!

I don't know Jack....Lalanne

I can remember watching jack as a kid, he had a show that came on everyday at noon.
I think that jacko invented spandex, anyway he would come out and teach housewives exercises using their kitchen chairs and cans of soup as weights.
I used to laugh at him....But not now. Today I received the results of a health screening that took place in May.Lets just say that my results were not so good and well Jack is still looking pretty good. Hey I'm Seriously motivated here, I'm going on record that over the next 12 weeks I am going to hammer it.
(Before and after shots on this one kids.) so watch for this and I will fill you all in on my progress.
Any tips on this would be much appreciated.
